The Partnering Initiative undertakes commissioned work with organisations from all sectors. Our approach is both collaborative in style and action-orientated.

The Initiative has experience in designing learning modules on the multi-stakeholder partnering proceess and in delivering training on tri-sector partnership and brokering skills. We already provide a range of learning services including the world's leading academic programme in cross sector partnership (PCCP) and an innovative accreditation programme for partnership brokers (PBAS) and also work with a number of global organisations including the Aga Khan Foundation, World Bank Group, Shell, Rio Tinto, Thames Water and the United Nations Development Programme.

Our aim is to promote internal capacity, so we expect to do most activities only once (e.g. speaking at events or training in partnering skills). In this way, skills and capacity building become embedded within the organisation itself -- the Initiative remains available as a support resource for an agreed specified period of time.

By working with the Initiative, organisations have access to some of the best practitioners in different parts of the world (including those who have successfully completed both the Post Graduate Certificate in Cross Sector Partnership and those accredited to the Partnership Brokers Accreditation Scheme).

All requests for commissioned work are discussed and assessed before recommending specialists for a variety of specific projects, for example:

  • Facilitated Partnership Reviews (further info)
  • Development and delivery of tailored learning opportunities and training programmes
  • Building institutional capacity
  • Development and management of complex partnering activities
  • Monitoring and evaluation (further info)
