TPI is currently planning a new portfolio of accessible, modular training courses to build individuals' and organisations' partnering capabilities. We would greatly appreciate your feedback from the frontline on the training most important to you, and hope you would be willing to spare 10 minutes to go through an online survey.
The Partnership Brokers Accreditation Scheme, initiated by the Overseas Development Institute and the IBLF has undergone a redesign under its new management, The Partnering Initiative. The new structure makes the course significantly more financially accessible, as well as more flexible for those who want brokering training but don't necessarily have the need to be accredited. Next PBAS cohort: 29 March - 03 April, North Wales, UK (Global intake, application deadline 23 February)
The partnering process requires imagination, coordination and rigour if partnerships are to function efficiently and effectively. For thoughts on how a Partnership Broker' can make all the difference Click here
Improving the evaluation of cross-sector partnerships will be a priority for TPI research and development in 2009. This is because our experience in recent years suggests that a more systematic and comprehensive approach to evaluation is now needed. An important milestone for TPI will be the publication later this year of Getting Better - a toolbook designed to help partnership practitioners review their effectiveness, measure the value added and ensure the impacts are sustainable. One input into ongoing TPI research and development on evaluating partnerships was an investigation of current practice undertaken in 2008 with a team of students from the London School of Economics. A TPI Working Paper reporting the results is now available for download. For more information contact Rafal Serafin at firstname.lastname@iblf.org. ONGOING
We are moving forward with the development of the Partnership Forum (PF), our online platform for practitioner exchange, networking and resources. The site will be available to a number of communities of practice over the course of the next few months to begin populating it with their knowledge and materials. We will then look to launch the site later in the year. The communities of practice will be focussed around the different parts of the partnering cycle. Themes already suggested include evaluation and moving on. If you are interested in learning more about the site and how it could serve your communities, or would like to propose a community of practice, do get in touch with Emily Wood at firstname.lastname@iblf.org UPCOMING TPI is developing an online module to help people understand basic partnering concepts and to share useful frameworks.
